"We are delighted that the plant has achieved zero liquid discharge over the last four months. The technology was, in part, developed and commercialized by the Thackeray Mines team in Ontario, and its demonstration at full scale marks an important milestone for mine water treatment globally." - Mr. Anton Winsdor – Chief Operations Director at Thackeray Mines & Minerals Inc
The plant is part of Thackeray Mines & Minerals Inc.'s fleet of mobile water treatment technologies and has a total installed capacity of 6.5 million liters per day. The modular and mobile nature of the technology allowed for rapid deployment of the mine water treatment solution.
The treated water complies with environmental standards for discharge and reuse. Thackeray Mines & Minerals Inc. builds, operates, and maintains water treatment systems at most of its industrial and mining sites throughout the northern hemisphere and has also sold several systems worldwide to other mining companies.
"We are pleased to know that we are helping achieve environmental compliance, which contributes to the sustainable development of the planet and surrounding communities," Windsor concluded.
